Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider, has upgraded its network to handle more calls and to offer enhanced services and new features to customers in Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Twin Falls and the surrounding area. Wireless Internet and two-way text messaging services, including Mobile Web, Mobile MessengerSM and Mobile Office, are now available to customers. With the additional increase in capacity, more customers will now enjoy the benefits of digital service, such as superior voice quality, longer battery life and enhanced privacy.
"Since acquiring the southeastern Idaho markets Verizon Wireless has been planning for growth and expansion," said Marni Walden, Mountain Region President for Verizon Wireless. "Customers using the system in these markets will now notice better call quality, increased reliability and be able to take advantage of Verizon Wireless' premier wireless data products."
The upgrade preserves the benefits of digital service and positions the company for more rapid expansion to meet projected growth and for more aggressive introduction of future technologies.
The extensive project is part of Verizon Wireless' 2001 network investment of $5 million in Idaho and $4 billion nationwide.
Now, through January 31, 2002, customers can sign up for service with the nation's largest wireless provider and receive up to 3,500 minutes for life on selected plans with activation of new annual service.
