CDMA digital wireless technology provides wireless users with greater call clarity and security, longer battery life and talk time, and the ability to use advanced wireless services such as Internet access and text messaging.
"This digital network upgrade will provide our customers with improved wireless coverage when using our voice and data services," said Gene Fassett, executive director of network for Verizon Wireless' Upstate New York Region.
The network expansion is part of Verizon Wireless' $4 billion investment to improve and extend the reach of its nationwide network. More than $100 million of that investment is being used to stay ahead of the growing demand for Verizon Wireless products and services in the Upstate New York region.
