Verizon Wireless has expanded service coverage in New York City with a new cell site in lower Manhattan.
"The new cell site will provide customers who live in and travel through the area with greater wireless network coverage and increased clarity when making wireless calls," said Heidi Hemmer, Verizon Wireless Director of Engineering in metropolitan New York.
The site improves service in the area between Broadway and Sixth Avenue, south of West 8th Street and north of Prince Street.
The new site is part of a $4 billion investment program to improve and extend the reach of the Verizon Wireless nationwide network. More than $300 million of that investment is being used to stay ahead of the growing demand for Verizon Wireless products and services in the New York Metro area.
