Verizon Wireless Expands Service Coverage In Oscawana Lake, New York

March 21, 2002

Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider, has expanded service coverage in Putnam County with a new cell site in Oscawana Lake.

"The new cell site will provide customers who live in and travel through the area with greater wireless network coverage and increased clarity when making wireless calls," said Heidi Hemmer, Verizon Wireless Director of Engineering in metropolitan New York.

The site improves service on the Taconic State Parkway in the vicinity of Adams Corners, Oscawana Corners, Sunnybrook and Christian Corners.

The company has invested more than $8 billion during the past two years to improve and extend the reach of the Verizon Wireless nationwide network, the largest in the U.S. More than $300 million of that investment was used last year to stay ahead of the growing demand for Verizon Wireless products and services in the New York Metro area.
