Verizon Wireless Offers Flat-Rate, Regional Eight State Calling Plans

No Roaming or Long Distance Charges while Traveling the Midwest

December 14, 2000

Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider, today introduced new regional flat-rate pricing options for consumers and businesses in the Kansas and Missouri markets who want competitive, predictable regional pricing with no roaming or long distance charges. The new SingleRateSM Midwest calling plans now give Verizon Wireless customers an eight state regional calling area including Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas and Missouri.

"Our customers in Kansas and Missouri who travel now have the option of choosing a calling plan which best meets their needs," said Kirk Golbach, President, Kansas/Missouri Region. "Consumers who travel can choose the SingleRateSM Midwest plan or our national 50 state SingleRateSM calling plan."

Traditionally, many wireless calling plans require customers to pay separate long-distance charges for incoming and outgoing calls outside the local area, and roaming charges when traveling outside the designated home area.

Verizon Wireless' SingleRateSM regional and national plans eliminate uncertainty and guarantee that customers won't be surprised by unexpected roaming and long distance charges on their monthly bill.

The new family of three flat-rate price plans provide some of the best value in the industry for a regional wireless plan beginning at just $30 per month for 150 minutes.
