Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless communications provider, has opened the doors to its newest store in Mequon.
"Our new location makes it easier to do business with Verizon Wireless if you live in Ozaukee County, particularly in the Mequon area," said Jim Breitzman, area director-Wisconsin for Verizon Wireless. "Our customer base is rapidly expanding in the area and our new location in Mequon provides customers with increased convenience and accessibility to our products and services."
Located in the Mequon Pavilion, 10902 N. Port Washington Road, the new 2,500-square-foot store brings the total number of Verizon Wireless stores and kiosks in the Milwaukee area to nine.
To mark the grand opening of its newest store, Verizon Wireless announced that it will support the Homestead High School boy's basketball program with a financial donation for equipment. Lisa Austin, manager of the new Verizon Wireless Mequon store, will present a $1,500 donation to John Chekouras, head coach for the Homestead boy's basketball team, at halftime of the Highlanders home game on Thursday, February 22.
"On behalf of Homestead High School, I'd like to thank Verizon Wireless for its support and contribution to the Homestead boy's basketball program," said Chekouras. "We appreciate Verizon Wireless' generosity and welcome the company to the Mequon community."
In additional to the donation, Verizon Wireless celebrated the opening of its Mequon store with a two-day "February Fever" party on February 17 and 18, dedicating a full weekend to basketball. The activities featured an autograph session with Milwaukee Bucks forward Darvin Ham, hoop-it-up sessions outside the store with Bango, the Milwaukee Bucks mascot, as well the Panther and Golden Eagle from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Marquette University, respectively. Patrons could also register to win prizes such as luxury suite tickets to the Milwaukee Bucks home game on March 15, a Milwaukee Bucks jersey, and a NBA official game ball.
Verizon Wireless is the official wireless communications provider of the Milwaukee Bucks and the Bradley Center.
