Verizon Wireless Opens State-Of-The-Art Customer Service Center in Utah
$42 Million Facility Creates 1,000 New Jobs in Salt Lake City Area

Utah Governor Mike Leavitt joined executives of Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider, today to celebrate the grand opening of the wireless company's state-of-the-art Customer Service Call Center in West Valley City. The $42 million facility will bring more than 1,000 new jobs to the local economy and marks the first time a U.S. wireless company has selected Utah as home for a major customer service call center.
"Verizon Wireless' Worry Free Guarantee promises our customers that we will provide the best network and customer service support available in the wireless industry," said Marni Walden, Mountain Region president for Verizon Wireless. "Our Utah Call Center will help us deliver on that commitment."
The new center will utilize cutting edge technology that increases a representative's efficiency in serving customers. The new facility includes more than 800 uniquely designed workstations and almost 200 training stations.
The 120,000 square foot building, located at 2777 South Corporate Park Drive, also includes a 2,600 square foot fitness center and a dining room that offers on-site, reasonably priced meals to employees.
Verizon Wireless executives expressed their appreciation to Governor Mike Leavitt and his staff who played a key role in identifying the benefits and helping the company decide to locate the call center in Utah.
