Verizon Wireless Store Opens in Westchase District in Response to Demand for Company's Services

In response to growing demand for the company's services, Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider, opened a new retail store in Houston located at the northwest corner of Westheimer and Gessner in the Westchase District. The store will hold its official grand opening the week of September 16.

"Demand for our wireless services continues to grow, and as a result we continue to open new stores in Houston to meet our customers' needs for leading edge wireless products," said Katherine Greene, Houston/Gulf Coast region president of Verizon Wireless.

Grand opening festivities including food, games and special guests are scheduled September 15-21. Friday, September 20 from 3 - 4:30 p.m. Verizon Wireless is providing free child fingerprinting by the Houston Police Department.

The store is located at 2678 South Gessner at Westheimer, and will be open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. The telephone number is 713-952-2355.

Verizon Wireless was the first carrier to launch the fastest national high-speed wireless data network, Express NetworkSM, both locally and nationally. Express Network is available to customers at the new Tomball store and offers wireless Internet access speeds ranging from 40 kbps (dial-up modem speeds) to 60 kbps with data speeds capable of 144 kbps (approaching DSL speeds).
