Never stop learning.

A key tenet of Verizon’s commitment to employees is fostering a learning culture that empowers V Teamers. Through our training programs and professional development, we are future-proofing our business and cultivating the next generation of change-makers and innovators.

While our focus is elevating the skills of our teams, it’s always nice to be recognized by the best measures of the industry and receive external praise confirming our programs are best-in-class. After winning some of the biggest awards in the business, Verizon is the Meryl Streep of professional development, and we have the hardware as well as the stronger results to prove it.

We recently took home multiple honors from Brandon Hall Group’s Human Capital Management Excellence Awards. The HCMEs recognize organizations that have successfully deployed programs and tools to achieve measurable results. We owned the podium with three outstanding and now award-winning programs:

Gold Winner: Leadership Compass

Leadership Compass® helps new managers become effective people leaders by getting to know their role, understanding the business, connecting their team to the business, and delivering results.

While the program is top-notch, we won gold for the impact of Leadership Compass, in which a staggering 97 percent of participants said they acquired new and valuable knowledge. Additionally, 94 percent improved vital leadership skills, which ultimately contributed to a 29% ROI in just three months when comparing Leadership Compass participants to colleagues who did not take the course.

Silver Winner: Top Talent

Verizon received a silver award for the Top Talent program, which promotes growth opportunities for next-generation Finance leaders. V Teamers who were nominated by their leaders participated in one of two tracks:

  1. Create, Connect, Grow (CCG), designed for managers to help prepare them in leadership roles;
  2. My Leadership Portfolio (MLP), which cultivates directors who show tremendous promise as future leaders.

Top Talent focuses on helping employees be forward-thinking strategic partners by broadening their skill sets and understanding of the industry landscape.

Bronze Winner: Digital DNA

Verizon was also awarded a bronze honor for the Digital DNA program, which enhances digital literacy, promotes the adoption of cutting-edge technology, and receives ongoing support as emerging tech tools are introduced and integrated.

While receiving honors from Brandon Hall is a testament to the caliber of our programs, we don’t train for trophies. Creating a learning culture means nurturing the growth of our employees at all levels. And, as the industry continues to shift and evolve, preparing our teams to work smarter and with greater agility to deliver on our purpose—creating the networks that move the world forward.

Our people are our greatest strength. We are proud to support their development to make sure V Teamers have the chance to realize their full potential and shape their future.
