Hans and the VLC are at the hub in Irving, Texas, and they’ve already met with V Teamers from retail stores and technology teams. Their goal? Getting V Teamers’ perspectives on how to improve the business. He also had updates on:
- How Verizon Innovative Learning (VIL) is bringing E-sports into the classroom,
- The 10-year, $176 million contract to provide the US Department of Homeland Security with emergency telecommunications and prioritized wireless services, and
- The return of football season, with our new NFL Sunday Ticket offering, as well as tickets to every single game this season, with Verizon Access.
Finally, Hans offered his thanks to everyone who has helped to keep our customers communicating despite hurricanes, wildfires, tornadoes and more. He had special thanks to Joe Russo and the Global Network & Technology team for keeping our network running all over, despite the forces of nature at work .

Irving hub leader and VP of Network Engineering Phillip French took some time to talk about our recent award wins and what they mean for us over the competition. Our recent RootMetrics wins include our outright win for National Overall Wireless Network Performance, Accessibility, Data Performance and even the new category, Video.
👢 Michelle Miller with what’s new from the Coastal Plains Market.
Market president Michelle announced that we are the title sponsor of Friday Night lights for the Fort Worth, Texas school district, which has more than 85,000 students enrolled, three stadiums, and more than 100 events a year. She also let us know that, after stepping in to save the Dallas Holiday Parade when Toyota backed out last year, we will be back this year as the presenting sponsor!
