If there’s one thing you can count on in retail, it’s that there are busy days and slow ones. During the holidays? Nonstop hopping from customer to customer. After the holidays? A bit more downtime. So, how do we ensure that we keep the sales rolling in when purchasing isn’t top of mind? Enter the Book of Business.
What is the Book of Business? A great idea to make the most of downtime and generate 10% of gross adds for retail. It boils down to a simple rule: 3, 3 and 5. When things are slow, store reps are asked to:
- Generate 3 manual leads,
- Make 2 to 3 successful VZEngage contacts, and
- Keep their Video Assist Toggle on for at least 5 minutes.

VBG reaches Hispanic Small Business customers on a favorite Spanish-language TV station 📺 [05:24]
We know that reaching out in Spanish is a great way to engage Hispanic customers, businesses and V Teamers. That’s why we were super emocionados to see senior director of Retail and SMB Sales Jorge Zapata from the Miami team, and small business customer Patricia Mora of Isaac Jewelry, record a Spanish-speaking TV segment for Telemundo Miami’s Acceso Total. Jorge also recorded a separate segment in English with Isaac Jewelry’s general manager Andres Noriega on the local NBC affiliate’s lifestyle show: South Florida Live.
