Super Bowl Live Fan Fest
What a week we had in southern Florida! Beyond the game itself, the Super Bowl Live Fan Fest was a big hit in downtown Miami, with lots of food, fun and a chance to meet actual football players. And guess who was at the center of it all? Us!
Our 5G stadium wowed fans with an interactive experience demonstrating how Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband has the potential to transform how we watch sports and experience other entertainment content.
Truly up to speed
If you watched the big game, you saw competitors like T-Mobile making some questionable claims about how their network compares favorably to ours. We’re premiering new ads -- one featuring our own amazing engineers -- showing that our 5G is 10 times faster than some other 5G networks. Also actress, Jenny Slate was in New York City running speed tests to show people how our network is unmatched against the competition.
Verizon customers like Norka Arias agree: “Listen, I’ve been with Verizon for so many years and they are the best. They have service everywhere!”
A friend of Chewy’s is a friend of ours
Did you recognize the actor doing the voiceover of one of our ads airing during the big game? Here’s a hint: He tends to find things that have been lost, like arks. Yes, that was none other than Han Solo himself, Harrison Ford.
Speaking of big stars, we also aired a post-game message voiced by two-time Super Bowl champ Eli Manning, asking fans to join us in dedicating One More Sunday to community service -- all to move the world forward.
Black History Month
With February here, it’s time to celebrate Black History Month. “2020 marks the 150th anniversary of the 15th Amendment, which gave Black Americans the right to vote, making this year’s celebration of black history even more meaningful,” said Diego Scotti, CMO and Executive Sponsor of BRAVE and BOLD employee resource groups. We’ll be covering some thought-provoking events over the coming weeks, including a special day related to our 20th anniversary. Stay tuned for details.
