Thousands of guests attended the event to learn about the latest retail inventions and innovation trends. (Even celeb-preneurs like Martha Stewart and Drew Barrymore were among those attending).

Plus, we identified some important trends:
- An increase in the usage of shrink data to inform strategies (how data can help inventory management/curb theft)
- Real-time inventory tracking with RFID technology (using RFID to better understand how to keep just enough inventory in stock and perfect just-in-time stocking)
- The power of personalized in-person shopping experiences (using tech to drive customers to stores, which leads to greater sales and fewer returns)
- Business leadership is more involved with technology adoption (at major retailers, business leaders are forming tighter partnerships with technology and information leaders in the C-suite)
Most notably, experts call 2024 the year of gamification at scale.
- Marketing gamification is taking advantage of web3 technologies. They create more innovative content using holographic tech, AR and collectible digital assets (like NFTs)
- In 2023, luxury brands led the gamification expansion, but 2024 will brings gamification it to more and more retailers
- Retailers with larger scale (including supermarkets and FMCGs) prepare to collaborate on gamified experiences beyond engagement – potentially taking shape as loyalty schemes
