Verizon Business Enhances Presence in Asia-Pacific With New Regional Vice President of Sales and Services
HONG KONG and READING, U.K. - Verizon Business has appointed Andrew Dobbins as vice president of sales and services for the Asia-Pacific region. In this key role, Dobbins will head up the company's retail sales organisation, focusing on the needs of Verizon Business' multinational enterprise customers with pan-regional and global network services requirements in the region.
Dobbins has more than 15 years of international sales experience within the multinational market as well as extensive knowledge of all aspects of multinational customers' requirements including managed network services, security, IP telephony, outsourcing and LAN management. In his new role, Dobbins will focus on driving the adoption of Verizon Business' IP-based value-added services and solutions to deliver global connectivity and enhance collaboration.
"We are extremely pleased to have a sales executive of Andrew's calibre joining our team," commented Blair Crump, senior vice president, international and premier sales for Verizon Business. "Andrew will play a critical role in helping our Asia-Pacific customers realise the business benefits of evolving IP services, as well as increasing our overall presence in the region.
"The Asia-Pacific region is a pivotal market for Verizon Business overall, given its large presence of companies already operating in, or expanding into the global marketplace. Under Andrew's leadership, we look forward to expanding our existing leadership in the region's network service provider space."
Before joining Verizon Business, Dobbins was Asia-Pacific vice president of sales for Orange Business Services, formally Equant, where he held a number of senior international roles during his 10 years with the companies. His key achievements there include the transformation of these companies to network services and solutions providers; he also had overall responsibility for international network services and solutions sales to multinational customers.
"This is an exciting time to be joining Verizon Business," said Dobbins. "In 2006 the company focused on consolidating and enhancing existing product and network capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region. This year, we are therefore perfectly positioned to maximise the potential of our global IP network to deliver innovative services and solutions that truly meet the needs of our locally-based and global multinational customers."
