Verizon Business Provides Low-Latency, High-Speed Connectivity for NYSE Euronext Colocation Customers

READING, EnglandNYSE Euronext has chosen Verizon Business as a provider of high-speed connectivity for its new SFTI® Optic service. Verizon Business will provide extremely low-latency connectivity from customer premises into the exchange’s SFTI access centers, which enable SFTI® Optic wavelength low-latency access into their colocation racks in NYSE Euronext’s new, state-of-the-art European Liquidity Center.

Heightened competition and technological advancements in the fast-paced financial services market have increased the need for the lowest latency trading infrastructure to provide microsecond access to market data and matching engines, prompting NYSE Euronext to launch a new liquidity center in Basildon, Essex, to host all of the exchange’s European markets.

Chandan Sharma, global managing director of Verizon Business’ financial services practice, said: “Downtime isn’t an option for the financial services environment – time delays can literally equate to money lost. Companies need to be able to trade in real time and rely on high-speed, secure and reliable connectivity solutions, such as those provided by Verizon Business, to maintain their strategic competitive advantage. Our continued relationship with NYSE Euronext has enabled us to work closely with the customer and supply connectivity solutions that support the company’s strategic business goals and future business expansion.”

Verizon Business operates one of the world’s largest facilities-based communications networks and provides a range of Ethernet services to financial customers around the world.  The company has long-standing relationships with many of the world’s largest financial markets and continually helps them to further improve their market infrastructure solutions through reducing latency (the time it takes for data sent from its entry point in the network to reach its destination), increasing geographical reach and strategic transformation.
