Verizon Enterprise Solutions’ cloud and data center business gained significant momentum in the first three months of 2015. Our total customers increased 10 percent worldwide over the same period last year, with the United States and Latin American markets leading the way.
This momentum was highlighted by new and additional projects for a varied array of companies, such as Altisource, Cisco and National DCP. Additionally, Verizon Cloud and data center services expanded both technologically and geographically; we deepened our relationships with key providers; and we continued to support the evolution of the Internet of Things.
Real Stories of Cloud Implementation
Verizon’s cloud story is being written in real time as major enterprises transition to a cloud infrastructure and reap the benefits, including remote access, scalability and increased data intelligence (to name a few).
Verizon supported both National DCP and Altisource through recent IT transformation projects. National DCP, the sourcing and distribution entity for Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin Robbins, moved its data center operations into Verizon-owned facilities and is running its new technology platform on Verizon’s cloud infrastructure.
Altisource migrated its IT operations to the Verizon cloud to better support an increasingly faster pace of business. We delivered an enterprise-grade private cloud solution that was secure, scalable and efficient to help the financial and business services company expand its business and identify new revenue streams. The solutions developed for National DCP and Altisource are just a few examples of why enterprises are turning to Verizon for cloud solutions and data center services.
Building a Better Cloud
To keep up with increased data requirements and global advances in network capabilities, Verizon added new cloud functionality and expanded the geographic footprint for Verizon Cloud. Verizon’s Seamless Upgrade allows us to conduct major systems upgrades without interrupting service or limiting infrastructure capacity.
Additionally, customers in Asia-Pacific will have access to a suite of significantly enhanced cloud services, as we expand our cloud offering in Melbourne, Hong Kong and Singapore. The new services are designed to meet the demand by multinational companies for secure, enterprise-grade cloud capabilities in this burgeoning region.
