- Verizon Enterprise Solutions expanded its strategic relationship with JetBlue Airways. As JetBlue’s primary technology infrastructure service provider, Verizon signed a five-year agreement with JetBlue. Verizon’s core technologies — enterprise-class cloud, managed security, advanced communications and mobility networks, combined with its professional services — are helping enable JetBlue’s ongoing expansion and evolution.
- Marriott International, Inc. signed a multi-year agreement for Verizon Hospitality Communications Express, a new Unified Communications (UC) business solution designed specifically to meet the unique demands of the hospitality industry. The first in the industry to deploy Verizon’s new UC solution, Marriott also began implementation during the quarter. Under the terms of the agreement, Verizon Enterprise Solutions is serving as a strategic technology provider to the hospitality giant which manages and operates hotel properties throughout the world.
- Verizon provides a broad range of communications and network services that enable Allstate, the largest publicly held insurer in America, to effectively deliver its insurance products and services to customers.
- Benihana, the nation’s leading operator of Japanese theme and sushi restaurants nationwide, is using Verizon’s network and unified communication solutions to connect to and communicate with its expanding operations.
- Kronos Incorporated is a global provider of workforce management software to tens of thousands of organizations. Verizon provides technology to enable Kronos to manage its network traffic spikes during times of high usage.
- Verizon provided the cloud infrastructure and data center services for a federal health website administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, a division of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
- Verizon is a contracted company listed on GOV.UK Verify — the new way for U.K. citizens to access government services that require them to prove who they are online, safely.
- The Verizon Cloud enables WoundMatrix to securely deliver its innovative telehealth software and remote monitoring technologies on demand and globally to help clinicians proactively manage wound care patients.
- To support SchoolSnaps’ expansion into the U.K. and the U.S., Verizon is providing the company with cloud and professional services. SchoolSnaps is a revolutionary Australian company providing end-to-end school photo management solutions, enabling schools to take control of digital media libraries and families to share, manage and store those precious moments.
- For the North American Aerospace Command’s NORAD Tracks Santa hotline and operations center, Verizon helps track Santa’s trip around the world by providing the toll-free hotline and call-handling capabilities and its 4G LTE wireless network to help volunteers answer phone calls to the hotline, respond to emails and download apps. This year, Verizon employees and their families joined more than 1,250 Christmas Eve volunteers — including military personnel, family members and friends, and other corporate contributors — in answering phone calls and emails.
- General Electric and Verizon announced plans to expand the reach and strength of the Industrial Internet. The companies teamed up to allow GE’s software-enabled machines and devices to connect to Verizon’s machine-to-machine connectivity and cloud platforms to create a secure wireless communications system for the Industrial Internet.

Cloud
- Verizon Enterprise Solutions simplified the cloud-purchasing experience for its clients with the launch of Verizon Cloud Marketplace, a key foundational component of the company’s robust ecosystem of enterprise-class technologies. The online storefront features pre-built, cloud-based services from AppDynamics, Hitachi Data Systems, Juniper Networks, pfSense and Tervela. Available globally to enterprises using Verizon Cloud, Verizon Cloud Marketplace provides a one-stop shop for software-based cloud resources that are certified to operate in Verizon’s cloud environments.
- Verizon Enterprise Solutions announced its Virtual Contact Center and IP-based Interactive Voice Response (IP IVR) offerings are HIPAA-ready. With these solutions, U.S. healthcare providers and payers can now effectively manage incoming inquiries from users, such as patients and healthcare professionals, while sharing electronic patient health information. A cloud-based offering, Verizon’s Virtual Contact Center offers a holistic and coordinated experience for users and can be integrated with existing customer relationship management software, electronic health records and other customer owned databases to provide a holistic view of the patient for the payer or provider.
- Verizon Enterprise Solutions announced that its cloud-computing platform received Authority to Operate from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP). Securing FedRAMP Agency ATO paves the way for U.S. government agencies to easily and securely migrate mission-critical workloads to the cloud, while reducing the time, costs and resources required to evaluate the security of cloud services. It also helps government agencies address federal IT reform programs, such as the Digital Government Strategy, the Federal Cloud Computing Strategy and the Federal Data Center Consolidation Initiative.
Security
- Verizon Enterprise Solutions announced that its Private IP Secure Cloud Interconnect (SCI) service is available with HP Helion Managed Cloud Service, the Salesforce Customer Success Platform and Google Cloud Interconnect (GCI). Verizon’s SCI offering provides an enterprise-class cloud networking option for customers of six leading cloud service providers (Amazon, Google, HP, Microsoft, Salesforce and Verizon), enabling enterprises to rapidly scale and use multiple cloud services via a pay-as-you-go model.
- To help enterprise organizations keep up with the constant onslaught of cybersecurity threats, Verizon enhanced its Managed Security Services portfolio with a new advanced monitoring service and next-generation web-based portal. Verizon found that one of the greatest challenges for companies that want to prevent security incidents is the lack of visibility into early attack indicators and signs of misconfiguration or non-compliance with security policies.
- Verizon Enterprise Solutions and FireEye announced a collaboration to help protect enterprises from security threats.
Reports and Research
- Verizon Enterprise Solutions released its second annual State of the Market: Enterprise Cloud 2014 report, providing original data and analysis of cloud usage within the enterprise and its impact on the IT organization and business at large. It is the only report combining internal data from one of the industry’s most experienced cloud services providers with data and insight from third-party analyst and research firms. It presents both a snapshot of current cloud trends, along with analysis and predictions on the future of cloud in the enterprise.
- Verizon Enterprise Solutions’ released its list of top enterprise technology trends for 2015. In the coming year, strategic network investments will be a major focus point for savvy CIOs as companies seek to make sense of big data, transition to the cloud and monetize the Internet of Things (IoT). Enterprise organizations will also adopt technologies that drive business innovation and provide a strong platform for future growth.
- The new Harvard Business Review study, “Internet of Things: Science Fiction or Business Fact?” (sponsored by Verizon Enterprise Solutions) documented the impact IoT is having on early adopters’ organization, the rewards they are receiving by being IoT pioneers and the challenges associated with new technology implementation.
- During the holiday season, Verizon Enterprise Solutions used its Retail Index to identify online consumer retail shopping patterns in the U.S. The Verizon Retail Index measured average daily traffic and peak volumes.
Awards, Recognition and Leadership
- Verizon was positioned by Gartner Inc. in the Leaders quadrant in the “2014 Magic Quadrant for Machine-to Machine (M2M) Services” report. This report marked Gartner’s first-ever analysis of the global M2M services landscape.
- Veteran security expert Mike Denning joined Verizon Enterprise Solutions as vice president of global security. Mike is a noted authority in the security field with a proven track record in serving enterprise organizations. He is responsible for overseeing Verizon’s global security business where he will manage more than 500 employees around the world, seven global Security Operations Centers (SOCs), the Verizon Cyber Intelligence Center (VCIC), the product management and development organization and security sales operations.
