Verizon Wireless Offers Free Weekends, Nationwide Long Distance on Local Calling Plans (Denver)

DENVER, Colo. — Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless company, today announced new local digital calling plans that include free weekends for life and nationwide long distance, giving customers some of the best local and regional digital calling plans available.

"Our research shows that while Mountain Region customers do most of their travel within their home state, they want the freedom to call anywhere in the U.S." said Marni Walden, president for Verizon Wireless in the Mountain Region, which includes Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. "Now, customers are getting what they want with digital calling plans targeted to their local area that include some of the benefits of our national SingleRate plan. With free weekends for life and free long distance, customers can easily keep in touch no matter where their family and friends live in the U.S."

The Digital Choice plans include free weekends and free nationwide long distance when calling from a home service area. The plans are available in Colorado, Utah and Idaho and offer choices such as 250 minutes for $30 per month, 500 minutes for $40 per month or 700 minutes for $50 per month. Verizon Wireless is also offering a new entry level regional calling plan that includes no roaming charges, free long distance, free weekend minutes and 150 anytime minutes for $30 per month when traveling in your home region. Customers can sign up for these plans beginning September 8 at any Verizon Wireless Communications store or by calling 1-888-466-4646. A two-year service agreement is required.

"Verizon Wireless gives customers superior network coverage and quality at a better price," said Walden. "As the number one wireless provider in the U.S., we have the ability to provide customers with variety and choice, competitive calling plans, the latest innovative products and services, and superior coverage."
