Laurel, Maryland — As of November 1, 2000, RadioShack stores and participating dealers in the Washington/Baltimore region are now offering Verizon Wireless products and services. Consumers entering RadioShack retail establishments can now activate service on any Verizon Wireless consumer calling plan, including the popular DigitalChoice and national SingleRate plans that provide more freedom while traveling due to Verizon Wireless' digital technology and coast-to-coast coverage area.

The strategic alliance between RadioShack and Verizon Wireless was announced in August of this year. The relationship brings a national, unified approach to wireless offerings for both companies and leverages the strength of both companies. The combination means customers get coast-to-coast convenience plus quality cellular service backed by the strength of two great organizations."

Initially, Verizon Wireless services will be offered at more than 3,700 RadioShack stores representing most major markets in the country. Prior to this agreement, Verizon Wireless services were offered in only about 40% of the RadioShack chain. Washington, D.C. is one of four new markets, along with Chicago, Boston and Atlanta, where Verizon Wireless cellular services are being offered at RadioShack outlets for the first time.
