Verizon Wireless Makes Wishes Come True By Donating *NSYNC Tickets To Children From Local Charities

CHICAGO, IL — Verizon Wireless is donating 35 concert tickets to Saturday and Sunday's, June 16 and June 17, sold-out *NSYNC 2001 POPODYSSEY Tour at Soldier Field to children from the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. The company is co-sponsoring the *NSYNC tour.

Boys & Girls Club of Chicago serves children of all ages by providing several after school and weekend activities to instill confidence and competence.

Deborah Levi, director of communications for Boys & Girls Club of Chicago, said that each one of Chicago's 14 chapters will send their "Youth of the Year" to the concert. The award is given to the high school student at each chapter who displays the strongest amount of leadership, family values and commitment to the community through Boys & Girls Club activities.

The other charitable organization whose children will benefit from the concert is the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening diseases. Through the help of private donations, the foundation has granted more than 83,000 wishes to children around the world.

" The concerts this weekend will be a dream come true for our kids," said Julie Pendel of Make-A-Wish Foundation, which is sending 14 children to the concert.

" We hope the opportunity to see *NSYNC live will be the thrill of these children's young lives and will give them great memories that will last forever," said Greg Klimek, president of Verizon Wireless' Illinois/Wisconsin Region.
