Verizon Wireless Donates 300 Cell Phones Free Service to San Diego's Toll Free Domestic Victim Hotline
SAN DIEGO, CA — WHAT:
City Attorney Casey Gwinn will announce that Verizon Wireless, the Official Wireless Partner for the City of San Diego, will donate 300 cellular phones and free service to San Diego's toll free Domestic Violence Hotline (888-305-SAFE). The donation is part of the San Diego Domestic Violence Partnership; a cooperative effort launched last February between Mayor Dick Murphy, City Attorney Casey Gwinn, the San Diego Domestic Violence Council and Verizon Wireless. In addition, Verizon will also donate $5,000 which will go towards seed money to fund "One Stop Shop," a multi-agency partnership which will house key professionals in one facility to provide services to victims and families of domestic violence.
