LAS CRUCES, NM — In its continuing effort to provide the best wireless service for New Mexico residents, Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider, today announced that it has doubled the capacity of its digital network in Las Cruces.
"This digital expansion provides greater network coverage to customers who live and travel through the area. It also enhances the quality and clarity of wireless calls," said Greg Carek, executive director, network for Verizon Wireless.
The increase in digital capacity is part of a $4 billion investment program to improve and extend the reach of the Verizon Wireless nationwide network. This year, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $26 million in its New Mexico network.
"We're investing in our network in southern New Mexico as part of our commitment to our customers of superior service on the largest, most advanced nationwide wireless network," said Carek. "Readers of the Las Cruces Sun-News recently named Verizon Wireless the 'Best Local Cellular Service.' We continue to work hard to maintain this praise."
Now, through January 31, 2002, customers can sign up for service with the nation's largest wireless provider and receive up to 3,500 minutes for life on selected plans, with activation.
