NEW YORK, NY — In response to the growing demand for the company's voice and data products and services, Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider, has opened its first Communications Store in the Bronx at 153 East Fordham Road. The new store is located in the old Alexander's building near the Grand Concourse.
"Demand for our wireless services is growing, as more people take advantage of calling plans like SingleRateSM, our popular Mobile Web services and [FREEUP], a prepaid wireless service designed for young adults," said Dorothy Djonbalaj, manager of the new store.
Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The new store is one of 20 new retail locations Verizon Wireless opened in the last 12 months in the New York Metro area to make shopping for wireless products and services easier and more convenient for customers. The new stores created more than 300 sales and customer service positions as well as business opportunities for local construction, architectural and real estate firms.
