Verizon Wireless Expands Service Coverage In Nassau County, New York
ORANGEBURG, NY — Verizon Wireless has expanded service coverage in Nassau County with three new cell sites in Lindenhurst, Cold Spring Harbor and East Rockaway.
"The new cell sites will provide customers who live in and travel through these areas with greater wireless network coverage and increased clarity when making wireless calls," said Heidi Hemmer, Verizon Wireless Director of Engineering in metropolitan New York.
The Lindenhurst site improves service on Route 109, Great East Neck Road and East Hoffman Railroad. The site in Cold Spring Harbor enhances wireless calling on Hempstead Turnpike and Harbor Road. In East Rockaway, service improvement covers Atlantic Avenue, Ocean Avenue and Main Street.
The company has invested more than $8 billion during the past two years to improve and extend the reach of the Verizon Wireless nationwide network, the largest in the U.S. More than $300 million of that investment was used last year to stay ahead of the growing demand for Verizon Wireless products and services in the New York Metro area.
