Samsung and Verizon Wireless Bring Life-Management Applications to Life - in Full Color

Weighing just over three ounces with a standard battery, the champagne-colored a530 features a Personal Organizer, which includes a calendar, to-do-list, calculator, scheduler, alarm and countdown features. The a530 showcases Samsung's leadership in screen technology via the phone's Super Twisted Nematic (STN) LCD screen. Flip the a530 open and the phone's main screen display supports 65,000 colors; closed the external LCD screen hosts 256-colors and animated graphics. For consumers, these displays enable the ultimate in personalization of caller ID.

Through Get It Now, customers can download applications over the air onto their phone to help them be more productive or have fun. Get It Now customers can play popular games, complete and send their expense reports to the office, personalize their a530 by assigning different tones to different callers and even view and send family photos.

With Verizon Wireless Express Network and the a530, being out of the office doesn't mean being out of the loop. When used with a laptop and Mobile Office connectivity kit, the a530 provides customers with high-speed wireless data access to corporate information, e-mail and the Internet at speeds between 40-60 kilobits per second (kbps) with bursts up to 144 kbps-similar to or better than a home dial-up connection.

The a530's two-way Short Messaging Service (SMS) capabilities accommodate the rising use of messaging services in the U.S. Customers can use Verizon Wireless' TXT Messaging service to send notes to friends, reminders to their teens or to discreetly communicate with the office.
