Verizon Wireless Teams with Faith West, EMI and BMG

BEDMINSTER, NJ and SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Verizon Wireless and Faith West Inc. said they will launch master clip ringtones from BMG and EMI Music this week, an expansion of the popular Get Tones offering in the Verizon Wireless Get It Now® virtual software store. The hot new service introduces a catalog of full fidelity hit singles from key artists in a compressed version of the original recording, including vocals, so users can download real music tones right from Verizon Wireless phones with Get It Now service.

Faith West and Verizon Wireless will distribute content from record labels EMI Music, BMG and Epitaph. The new service launches with music from artists including Coldplay, The Strokes, Pink, Kelis, Yellowcard, the Distillers, and Pink Floyd.

"Master clip tones are a fun new way for music lovers to personalize their phones, and we're pleased to work with EMI, BMG and Faith West to bring this offering to our customers," said Paul Palmieri, Executive Director of Business Development for Verizon Wireless.

"Working with Verizon Wireless opens up an exciting new market, and is a powerful way to connect artists and fans," said Ted Cohen, Senior Vice President, Digital Development and Distribution for EMI Music. "The Get It Now environment is ideal because it's secure and easy for consumers to use."

"We're pleased to introduce our artists' recordings to customers of the nation's largest carrier," said Kieve Huffman, Vice President Digital Marketing and Licensing, BMG Strategic Marketing Group. "We're excited about the prospects of mobile music and the new level of exposure it offers for our artists."

Polyphonic ringtones have consistently been among the most popular offerings on Get It Now. By working with Faith West, Verizon Wireless will deliver high quality song clips for use as ringtones.

"Some songs need the vocals to make them work," said Carolynne Schloeder, president of Faith West. "We give you the recorded song so you can really make a statement when your phone rings."

The new service, called Modtones DJ, is available through the Get It Now service in the Get Tones aisle for Verizon Wireless consumers. Master clip ringtones are priced at $2.99 each, with the charges appearing on the consumer's mobile phone bill. The service launches on the LG 6000 handset and is expected to be available on additional handsets.
