Thunder Over Louisville Goers To Get Better Wireless Phone Service in Kentucky
LOUISVILLE, KY — Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site, expanding the company's digital network capacity for its customers just in time for the Derby Festival's Thunder Over Louisville daylong event.
The new cell site increases the number of callers capable of being on the network concurrently, providing more than enough coverage to handle the calls of the countless Verizon Wireless customers who will be among the 700,000 visitors to Thunder Over Louisville this Saturday.
"Many people spend from dawn to dusk at Thunder Over Louisville," said Greg Haller, president Kentucky/Indiana/Michigan Region, Verizon Wireless. "From meeting up with friends and family to checking messages at home, they often use their wireless phones as the primary link for staying in touch. This new site is a direct extension of our commitment to ensure our customers can make and receive calls all along the riverfront throughout the day."
The new Louisville cell site is part of Verizon Wireless' continuous upgrades to its wireless network in Kentucky and across the country. Over the past three years, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $12 billion in its national network, offering customers access to the most extensive wireless voice and data network in the United States.
