Verizon Wireless Hamilton, New Jersey Communications Store Launches Phone Recycling Program to Aid Domestic Violence Victims
HAMILTON, NJ — Verizon Wireless recently celebrated the opening of its new Hamilton Marketplace Communications Store at 149 Marketplace Boulevard by launching a wireless phone collection drive to support its national HopeLineSM program, which benefits domestic violence survivors. Through the phone drive, which runs until July 14, no-longer-used wireless phones are being collected at the Hamilton Communications store, Senator Peter Inverso's office located at 3691-A Nottingham Way in Hamilton, and Assemblywoman Greenstein's office located at 7 Centre Drive, Suite 2 in Monroe.
To kick-off the drive, Verizon Wireless donated 25 wireless phones with free airtime to Womanspace, a Mercer County nonprofit social service agency specializing in the prevention and treatment of domestic violence. To encourage community residents to participate in the phone drive, Verizon Wireless will donate $1 per phone to Womanspace for every phone collected during the drive up to $1,500.
As a result of HopeLine and related phone recycling programs Verizon Wireless has organized since 1995, the company has collected more than 1 million wireless phones for the benefit of domestic violence victims and advocacy groups. For more information, visit www.verizonwireless.com/hopeline.
