BEDMINSTER, NJ — Verizon Wireless, owner and operator of the nation's most reliable wireless network, announced today that it has been named to Training magazine's 2005 list of "Top 100 Training Organizations in America." 2005 marks the fourth consecutive year Verizon Wireless has been recognized for its training and development programs. This year, Verizon Wireless is ranked No. 14, up from No. 20 last year.

Verizon Wireless was praised once again for closely aligning training programs to business goals and developing employee capabilities as a key competitive advantage. In particular, Verizon Wireless' proactive training in advance of the wireless industry implementation of Local Number Portability (LNP) was noted as a key reason the company's training efforts were honored.

"Verizon Wireless is honored to be recognized by Training magazine as a leader in training and development for the fourth year in a row," said Martha Delehanty, vice president - Human Resources for Verizon Wireless. "At Verizon Wireless, we understand that our success is directly related to the extent employees are encouraged to develop their own potential and we are committed to providing the training and development tools that enable them to perform at their peak and provide outstanding service and support to our customers."

Training combines quantitative and qualitative data to rank organizations that excel at developing their employees to deliver business results and support their corporate values while enhancing the work lives of their people.
