Verizon Wireless Reminds Customers To Spring Forward This Sunday

BEDMINSTER, NJ — With winter officially over, it's time to make the most of each spring day by adding an hour of daylight - Daylight Savings Time begins at 2:00 AM on Sunday, April 3. Staying on time this weekend and remembering to set clocks forward an hour is as easy as looking at any Verizon Wireless phone.

Customers resetting their clocks this weekend can depend on the Verizon Wireless network and follow the time listed on their wireless phone. Most Verizon Wireless phones will change time automatically on the company's national network; some may need to "re-register" by being powered off and on again.  And if customers are worried about oversleeping and being late for Sunday's plans, they can set the alarm clocks, available on most Verizon Wireless phones, to make sure they are awake and arrive at their destinations on time. Those customers who need a little more structure to help them stay on track and informed can use the calendar scheduling feature, available on select phones, to enter quick reminders or make note of important events taking place throughout the day.

Verizon Wireless customers who are worried that friends and family will forget to change their clocks can send them a quick TXT Message to remind them of the time change and reconfirm weekend plans. Customers can pay as they go for TXT Messaging, which is just $0.02 for each message received and $0.10 for each message sent, or select from a variety of bundled plans which are $2.99 per month for 100 messages, $4.99 per month for 250 messages, $9.99 per month for 1,000 messages or $19.99 for 2,500 messages sent or received. Customers need a TXT Messaging-capable phone to send and receive TXT Messages.

With the time change, Verizon Wireless customers can make up for the lost hour of their day by downloading time-saving Get It Now® applications. By checking out the Get It Now virtual store, available on select Verizon Wireless phones or at, customers can browse through the getGOING shopping aisle and choose from various applications such as driving directions and movie listings to help them stay informed while on the go. Download charges for applications vary and airtime charges apply when browsing, downloading and using certain applications.
