WOBURN, MA — Verizon Wireless, the first national carrier to launch Ringback Tones, today announced the arrival of its Ringback Tones service in New England. Verizon Wireless customers throughout the region can now find the perfect Ringback Tone to replace the standard ring callers hear while they wait for their call to be answered.

With Ringback Tones from Verizon Wireless, customers can browse through a catalog of more than 2,400 songs in 13 different music genres from SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group. With categories including Rap, Hip-Hop, Soundtracks, Metal/Alternative, R&B/Soul, 80's, Classic Rock, Pop/Rock, Country, Club Hits, 70's, Oldies, 60's and Holiday, customers can easily search through the catalog to find a Ringback Tone to fit their personal style. Customers can set-up Ringback Tones to include a default Ringback Tone (including the Verizon Wireless standard Ringback Tone), or assign different Ringback Tones for each caller based upon Caller ID, Group List or the time of day. With Ringback Tones from Verizon Wireless, customers can select Ringback Tones to replace the standard ring callers hear while they wait for their call to be answered. Sign-up for Ringback Tones via the Internet or Handset using TXT Messaging
To choose the perfect Ringback Tone, customers can visit the Ringback Tones Web site at www.verizonwireless.com/getitnow/ringbacktones to register, browse, preview and purchase Ringback Tones from a broad selection of musical artists. Customers can also sign up to receive a TXT Alert whenever their favorite artists releases new Ringback Tones by visiting the 'My Alerts' section of the site and selecting TXT notifications. Standard text messaging rates apply to TXT Alerts.
Signing up for Ringback Tones right from TXT Messaging-capable phones is easy as well. Customers send the TXT Message "RBT" to address "728" and reply to accept the service. Once registered, customers send the TXT Message "List" to "728" to receive a list of Ringback Tones and song ID codes available for purchase. Ringback Tones can be purchased by sending the song ID code as a TXT Message to "728." Standard text messaging rates may apply. From that point forward, callers will hear the new Ringback Tone. Customers can manage their Ringback Tone accounts by visiting www.verizonwireless.com/getitnow/ringbacktones.
Ringback Tone Pricing
Ringback Tones are available to Verizon Wireless customers for a monthly fee of $0.99 per month. Each Ringback Tone purchased is $1.99, which provides unlimited use for one year. Both the monthly fee and cost for each tone appear on the customer's monthly bill. Verizon Wireless plans to continue to expand Ringback Tones across its nationwide network throughout 2005.
