Mobile DataComm Becomes An Exclusive Data Agent For Verizon Wireless

BEDMINSTER, NJ and SAN DIEGO — Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless service provider, and Mobile DataComm, Inc. have entered into a new national distribution agreement enabling Mobile DataComm and its dealers to offer Verizon Wireless' award-winning BroadbandAccess and NationalAccess data services. Mobile DataComm, a leading distributor of wireless data products and services, has built a data-centric distribution channel comprised of system integrators, value-added resellers and application service providers that will enable Mobile DataComm and its distributors to activate and support Verizon Wireless BroadbandAccess customers nationwide.

Mobile DataComm is focused on wireless solutions that provide mobile professionals with remote access to critical information. Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess high-speed data service, based on EV-DO (Evolution-Data Optimized) technology, allows customers to surf the Internet, check email, or download files and attachments at typical speeds of 400 to 700 Kbps. NationalAccess, based on 1xRTT technology, delivers typical speeds of 60 to 80 Kbps and is available for customers traveling outside BroadbandAccess coverage areas. Both BroadbandAccess and NationalAccess support a wide variety of corporate applications and functionalities, including VPNs and behind the firewall connectivity.
