Wireless Phone Users In Lexington, Kentucky Now Experience Even Clearer Reception And Fewer Dropped Calls

LEXINGTON, KY — Verizon Wireless has installed additional equipment on several existing cell sites in Lexington that increases capacity, enabling more customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls, send and receive TXT and Picture Messages, and download games and ring tones while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.

These network improvements enable Verizon Wireless to stay ahead of its growing customer base and increasing demand for its voice and data services in the following areas:

  • Downtown Lexington
  • Rupp Arena
  • University of Kentucky campus
  • New Circle Road between Versailles Road and Russell Cave Road on the northwest side of Lexington

"College students are among some of our heaviest users, and UK students are no exception," said Greg Haller, president—Kentucky/Indiana/Michigan Region, Verizon Wireless. "Between their classes, study sessions, work and social lives, college students maintain very hectic schedules. Many of them find their wireless phones to be the most effective way to be reached by friends and family. We completed these upgrades to our wireless network to ensure that these busy students and all of our customers throughout Lexington will continue enjoying the reliable service they have come to expect from Verizon Wireless."
