Verizon Wireless Opens New Communications Store in Owensboro, Kentucky

OWENSBORO, KY — Consumers and businesses in Owensboro now have greater access to the nation's most reliable wireless service provider with today's opening of a new Verizon Wireless Communications Store at 5051 Frederica Road in the Frederica Plaza. The new store is the company's first location in Owensboro and its 14th in Kentucky.

The 1,700-square-foot Verizon Wireless Communications Store offers an expansive array of wireless products and services, including the latest handsets, accessories and data services such as TXT and Picture Messaging, V CAST and BroadbandAccess.

"This new store reflects our ongoing commitment to provide our customers with increased convenience and an accessible, knowledgeable sales staff," said Greg Haller, president—Kentucky/Indiana/Michigan Region, Verizon Wireless. "Consumer demand for our wireless service continues to grow as our ongoing network upgrades provide new, more sophisticated services for our customers. Last year we spent more than $25 million improving our wireless network across Kentucky."

The store also provides a HopeLine® phone collection bin where anyone can donate no-longer-used wireless handsets and accessories. Through the award-winning Verizon Wireless HopeLine program, most of the donated handsets and equipment are refurbished and sold, with proceeds going to support domestic violence awareness and prevention programs. Remaining handsets are recycled in an environmentally friendly way.

Managed by Ray Akin, the new Verizon Wireless Communications Store is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m.—8 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m.—5 p.m. The store's phone number is 270-686-2696.
