Wireless Fortune Cookies and Pet-Pals Pet Albums From Cutlass Now Available on Verizon Wireless Mobile Web 2.0 Customers' Phones

BEDMINSTER, NJ and NEW YORK — Cutlass, a leading innovator in entertainment and information applications for wireless phone users, and Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless carrier, announced today that Fookie, a wireless fortune cookie service, and Pet-Pals, a single-click pet album, are both available to Verizon Wireless Mobile Web 2.0SM customers.

A combination "fortune" and "cookie," Fookie is a zero-calorie fortune cookie delivered fresh to customers' Mobile Web 2.0-capable phones. Chocked full of hundreds of wise sayings, Fookie offers a fun fortune in either English or French with every click of the phone's keypad. Customers needing some extra luck can look under each fortune for one of six, double-digit "lucky" numbers.

Pet-Pals is a specially designed photo album of pet pictures from around the world that allows Mobile Web 2.0 customers to easily store and share photos of their favorite pets directly to wireless phones. With multiple options to choose from, Pet-Pals will keep pet lovers entertained for hours:

  • Pet-o-Day allows customers to view the pet of the day

  • Click-a-Pet randomly selects another pet to be displayed on the phone's screen

  • Search-a-Pet finds pets by name

  • MMS-a-Pet allows proud pet owners to share Picture Messages that include their pet's name, their name, a caption of choice and their location, directly from their Verizon Wireless camera phone. For privacy protection, Pet-Pals only displays the owner's first name and city.

Both Fookie and Pet-Pals are available now from Verizon Wireless on select Mobile Web 2.0-capable handsets. Mobile Web 2.0 can be self provisioned, eliminating the need for customers to call customer service or visit a Verizon Wireless Communications Store to sign up for the service. Customers simply register for Mobile Web 2.0 on their Mobile Web 2.0-capable handset and get access to information and content right from their wireless handsets. Mobile Web 2.0 is available for a $5.00 monthly access, plus airtime.

Fortune seeking customers can access Fookie by clicking on the Entertainment category from the Mobile Web 2.0 home page. Fookie is included in Mobile Web's $5.00 monthly access and can be found, along with Pet-Pals, in the Fun subcategory of the Entertainment category on "VZW Today", the Mobile Web 2.0 home screen. Pet-Pals is a premium application and is available for $1.99 per month added to the Mobile Web 2.0 monthly access. The MMS-a-Pet Picture Messages option of Pet-Pals costs $0.25 for each message sent and received.
