Verizon Wireless Names Lowenstein Marketing VP

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Verizon Wireless, owner of the nation's most reliable wireless network, has named Mark Lowenstein Vice President, Market Strategy and Segmentation, effective today, June 5, 2006.

Lowenstein will be responsible for directing the company's approach to serving its business and consumer markets, including service pricing, prioritization of applications and services, customer insights and user requirements development.

Widely recognized as a leading expert in the wireless industry, Lowenstein spent 10 years with the Yankee Group, where he founded and led the company's global wireless practices. As executive vice president, he supervised a global team of analysts and headed large-scale strategy consulting projects.

Prior to joining Verizon Wireless, Lowenstein was managing director of Mobile Ecosystem, a company he formed to provide strategic counseling to wireless industry executives. Previously, he was chief strategy officer at Informio. Lowenstein also has been a keynote speaker at numerous corporate and industry events and has been quoted frequently in the media.

Lowenstein holds a B.A. from Tufts University and an M.A. in International Communications and Technology Policy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
