LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS — Verizon Wireless, the only major carrier with a 30-day network test-drive pledge that pays for calls if a customer isn't satisfied and switches to another carrier, today announced the launch of its network in Harrison, Arkansas.

The expansion of the company's network to Harrison includes the addition of 21 new advanced digital cell sites, providing expanded coverage in Harrison and the surrounding area, including Bergman, Bellefonte, Valley Springs, Western Grove, Pindall, Saint Joe, Marshall and Leslie, Arkansas.

Expanding the Verizon Wireless network to include Harrison is the next step in the company's expansion and investment in Arkansas. Since launching its network in Arkansas in 2005, Verizon Wireless has already invested more than $50 million in the state.

"Harrison is a critical step in our continued expansion across Arkansas. Southern Business and Development Magazine recently named it one of 'Ten Really Cool Small Southern Markets' and it is home to several highly-respected companies, so we're eager to offer Verizon Wireless service in the area, " said Luis Cruz, region president for Verizon Wireless. " As we continue to expand to new markets in Arkansas, we look forward to differentiating Verizon Wireless with the unparalleled products, network reliability and quality customer service that we offer nationwide."

The launch of the Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) Revision A (Rev. A) wireless broadband network means Verizon Wireless customers in Harrison and across the state can access the company's high-speed wireless network and enjoy two flagship services: BroadbandAccess, the company's high-speed wireless service with average download speeds of 600 kilobits per second (kbps) to 1.4 megabits and average upload speeds of 500-800 kbps; and V CAST, a consumer-oriented multimedia service that offers music and short content on demand, including cutting-edge 3D games, music videos, news, weather and sports.

Verizon Wireless will launch retail distribution in Harrison in the near future to make its full array of wireless devices, accessories and services available locally.
