HOLLAND, MI — Verizon Wireless has upgraded equipment on its existing cell sites in Holland, increasing network capacity throughout the town by 66 percent.
The cell site upgrades enable more customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls; send and receive e-mail and TXT, Picture and Video Messages; and download games and Ringtones while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
"Network reliability is the No. 1 reason that customers choose and stay with Verizon Wireless," said Greg Haller, president Michigan/Indiana/Kentucky region, Verizon Wireless. "Getting through on the first try and maintaining a connection are important to our customers. We continue to optimize our network so that it remains reliable."
To give customers an opportunity to learn firsthand how reliable its network really is, Verizon Wireless recently introduced its 30-day Test Drive, an industry first that lets customers experience its network virtually risk-free for 30 days. If customers are not satisfied with their experience and take their number to another carrier, Verizon Wireless will refund their money for calls, equipment, activation fee and taxes.
These improvements in Holland are part of Verizon Wireless' continual effort to expand coverage, increase capacity and enhance the quality of its wireless voice and data network in Michigan and throughout the country. Verizon Wireless has invested $37 billion in the last seven years $5 billion on average every year since the company was formed to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services. More than $923 million of this investment has been spent in Michigan.
