LINCOLN, NE — Verizon Wireless, the wireless leader in customer loyalty and operator of the nation's most reliable wireless network, opened its newest Customer Service Center in Lincoln, Neb., today, receiving its first incoming customer call. The $33 million, 112,800 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility is located at the University of Nebraska Technology Park, 4600 Innovation Drive.

The Lincoln Customer Service Center is the company's first in the five-state Great Plains Region (which includes Nebraska, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa). Bonnie A. Edwards, director of the Lincoln Customer Service Center, says the center currently has 113 employees, not including a new customer service representative class that begins work today with training classes. The company will continue hiring new staff over the next two years for an employee base of 800 when the center is fully staffed.
