Experience Enhanced Service As Verizon Wireless Expands Coverage In Goldsboro, North Carolina

GOLDSBORO, NC — Wireless users in North Carolina are now experiencing increased coverage in Goldsboro, thanks to new Verizon Wireless cell sites. Verizon Wireless customers will immediately see enhanced wireless coverage in the following areas:

  • Berkeley Boulevard and surrounding streets

  • New Hope Road and surrounding streets

  • Northeastern section of Goldsboro

The recent network enhancement enables more Verizon Wireless customers to use their wireless phones to make calls, send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages, and download games and Ringtones while enjoying superior wireless coverage.

"This network enhancement reflects our ongoing commitment to meet the growing needs of our customers and to provide them with the reliable service they expect from Verizon Wireless," said Jerry Fountain, president of Verizon Wireless' Carolinas/Tennessee Region. "Dependable wireless service and high-quality customer service keeps our customers coming back year after year."

The enhancement in and around Goldsboro is part of Verizon Wireless' continual effort to expand coverage, increase capacity, and enhance the quality of its wireless voice and data network in North Carolina. In 2006, Verizon Wireless invested $146 million to build, maintain and expand its high-quality network, and since 2003, the company has spent $531 million in North Carolina to ensure network reliability and expanded coverage and capacity. In the first six months of 2007, the company spent $110 million on improving North Carolina's network.

Demand for Verizon Wireless services continued last year when the company added nearly 8 million new customers, more than any other wireless carrier, and improved its industry-leading customer retention rates. Verizon Wireless now serves more than 62 million customers nationwide.
