"Our new 4,000 square-foot Santa Rosa store provides plenty of space for both retail and customer service areas to accommodate all customer needs."

The grand opening will be marked with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, October 30, starting at 4:30 p.m. Local dignitaries, law enforcement leaders and community advocates are expected to participate in the event. Local residents are invited to attend and are encouraged to bring old cell phones and accessories they no longer use (from any wireless provider) for donation to the Verizon Wireless HopeLine® program.

To commemorate the opening of this state-of-the-art store, Verizon Wireless will donate $1,000 to YWCA Sonoma County, as part of the national Verizon Wireless Hopeline program. For over 30 years, the YWCA Sonoma County has been the acknowledged community leader in providing domestic violence services for Sonoma County families, through the county's only confidential safe house, therapeutic preschool and 24-hour hotline. YWCA Sonoma County serves more than 10,000 people each year.

Through the Verizon Wireless HopeLine program, used wireless phones, batteries and accessories from any service provider are recycled, or refurbished and sold. Verizon Wireless uses the proceeds to award grants and to donate wireless phones with prepaid airtime to local shelters and non-profit organizations to aid survivors of domestic violence. This year, Verizon Wireless has awarded more than $400,000 in grants, and donated nearly 1,400 phones and more than 4 million minutes of use to domestic violence agencies throughout California.
