STERLING HEIGHTS, MI — Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Sterling Heights that expands network coverage, enabling more customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make voice calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; access the Internet; view high-quality videos; and download music, games and ringtones, while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
The new cell site improves Verizon Wireless' voice and data network coverage in Sterling Heights, including Dodge Brothers State Park and Tiger Land Park, as well as along:
- The Clinton River in Sterling Heights
- Van Dyke Avenue between 19 Mile and Utica roads
- Schoenherr Road between 19 Mile and 17 Mile roads
- Utica Road between 17 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue
- Clinton River Road between 19 Mile and Schoenherr roads

This new cell site is part of Verizon Wireless' continual effort to expand coverage, increase capacity and enhance the quality of its wireless voice and data network in Michigan and throughout the country. More than $1.7 billion of this investment has been spent in Michigan since 2000. In 2007, the company invested more than $145 million in Michigan network improvements.
