TREVOSE, PA — Verizon Wireless has promoted Mario Turco to director of business sales for Verizon Wireless’ Philadelphia Tri-State Region which includes central, northeastern and southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware. In this position, Turco will oversee sales of the company’s wireless communications services and data products to small-to-medium businesses and large corporations across the region.

Previously, Turco served as director of retail sales and operations where he was responsible for staffing, growth and productivity for 133 Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and kiosks across the region. In this role, he successfully executed the most aggressive store build plan in the region’s history, opening 17 new locations in 2007 and generating $1 billion in revenue last year.

An 11-year veteran of the wireless industry, Mario began his career in finance at Bell Atlantic Mobile and has held various positions of increasing management responsibility within the company, including associate director of indirect sales for the Northeast area and director of indirect agents in Philadelphia.

Turco is a board member of the Philadelphia Police Athletic League (PAL) and was honored as a recipient of the NJBIZ and the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 award. He resides in Princeton, N.J.
