Verizon Wireless Expands 3G Wireless Network In Tidioute, Pennsylvania
TIDIOUTE, PA — Verizon Wireless, the wireless company with the highest customer loyalty, has activated a new cell site in Tidioute, just east of Titusville, which will enable more customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; view high quality videos; access the Internet; and download music, games and ringtones, while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
The new cell site improves coverage along State Route 62 from Althom Road south to Trunkeyville and from Youngsville Road east to the Hearts Content Scenic Area.
“Even the most advanced cell phone is only as good as the network it runs on,” said Roger Tang, president–Ohio/Pennsylvania/West Virginia Region, Verizon Wireless. “Our 3G high-speed wireless broadband network is the largest and most reliable in the United States, and field tests are under way that will enable us to become the first wireless company to offer commercial LTE (Long Term Evolution)-based 4G service in the nation, starting in 2010.”
This network improvement is part of Verizon Wireless’ continual effort to expand coverage, improve capacity and enhance the quality of its wireless voice and data network in Pennsylvania and throughout the country. Verizon Wireless has invested more than $50 billion since it was formed—$5.5 billion on average every year—to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services. Over the past 18 months, the company has invested nearly $330 million in its Pennsylvania network.
