MILTON, KY — Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Milton, which enables more customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; access the Internet; view high-quality videos; and download music, games and ringtones, while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
The new cell site, which is equipped with a permanent backup generator for times of emergency, improves voice and data coverage in Milton and along the following major roads:
- U.S. Route 421 between State Road 1226 and the Ohio River
- State Road 625 between Gossom Lane and U.S. Route 421
"Building new cell sites, like this one in Milton, is just one aspect of our overall effort to increase the reliability of our network across the state," said Greg Haller, presidentKentucky/Indiana/Michigan Region, Verizon Wireless. "This year, we're investing nearly $36.5 million on our Kentucky network. By actually test driving our network and monitoring usage every minute of every day, we can ensure we're making the right improvements to meet our customers' needs."
