Verizon Developer Community Continues To Grow And Add More Functionality For Mobile Apps Developers
SAN DIEGO and BASKING RIDGE, NJ — From CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2009®, Verizon Wireless said today that with the help of technology partners, the Verizon Developer Community (VDC) continues to add more functionality and information for mobile apps developers.
The VDC launched in late July, and since then more than 1,000 developers interested in reaching Verizon Wireless’ millions of customers have joined the community. V CAST Apps, Verizon’s mobile application storefront, remains on track to launch later this year. Over the next month, developers can continue to submit concepts and full applications to be included in the store.
“Thanks to the insights and feedback we’ve received from developers, the VDC continues to grow,” said Ryan Hughes, vice president, Partner Management and Business Development at Verizon. “We’re talking with our partners every day to make sure we have the tools and support for developers in place as together we’ll bring more innovative applications to Verizon Wireless customers.”
Verizon continues to work closely with a variety of companies to build the VDC and expand and enhance the developer.verizon.com Web site into a robust portal that serves as a destination for developers. These companies provide back-end support, testing options for developers and other services that support the go-to-market process for V CAST Apps.
