CONNEAUT LAKE, PA — Verizon Wireless, the wireless company with the largest 3G network, has activated a new cell site in Crawford County, Pennsylvania, which enables more customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; view high quality videos; access the Internet; and download music, games and ringtones, while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
The new cell site improves coverage along State Route 18 from Harmonsburg south to Conneaut Lake Road, along Highway 285 from Conneaut Lake Road south to Townline Road, along Conneaut Lake Road east from Grieser Road to North Watson Run Road.
“We’ve always believed even the most advanced device is only as good as the network it runs on. We continue to aggressively invest in our Pennsylvania network to increase coverage and capacity for our customers, add new services, and maintain our 3G network leadership,” said Roger Tang, president–Ohio/Pennsylvania/West Virginia Region, Verizon Wireless.
This network improvement is part of Verizon Wireless’ continual effort to expand coverage, improve capacity and enhance the quality of its wireless voice and data network in Pennsylvania and throughout the country. Verizon Wireless has invested more than $50 billion since it was formed—$5.5 billion on average every year—to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services. In 2009, the company invested nearly $195 million in its Pennsylvania network.
