Verizon Wireless And The University Of Colorado Buffaloes Team Up To Call A Timeout On Domestic Violence
DENVER, CO — Verizon Wireless and the University of Colorado invite fans to go ‘green’ and help curb domestic violence in the community at the same time.
Fans attending the Buffaloes’ home football games on Saturday, Oct. 16 and Saturday, Oct. 23 can donate their used wireless phones and accessories to the HopeLine® from Verizon phone recycling program. HopeLine drop boxes will be at the Verizon Wireless tent located directly across from the ticket office and main stadium entrance prior to kickoff.
About HopeLine
The HopeLine from Verizon program collects no-longer used wireless phones, batteries and accessories from any wireless service provider at its Communications Stores nationwide and puts the nation’s most reliable wireless network to work in local communities by turning these unused wireless phones into support for victims of domestic violence. October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
“Verizon Wireless is pleased to partner for the sixth year in a row with the University of Colorado Buffaloes to have HopeLine a part of the game-day activities,” said Melanie Braidich, regional president for Verizon Wireless. “We applaud CU fans for helping make a difference by raising awareness of domestic violence and doing a good thing for the environment by keeping old wireless phones out of landfills.”
Equipment can also be donated to the HopeLine from Verizon program year-round at any Verizon Wireless Communications Store across the country or through the mail by downloading a postage-paid label at www.verizonwireless.com/hopelinemailinglabel.
