Opportunities Abound For Those Seeking Employment With The Nation's Largest Wireless Carrier In North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee

GREENVILLE, SC — With mobile device use at an all-time high and an explosion in demand for wireless communications, Verizon Wireless, the nation’s largest wireless carrier with more than 79,000 employees nationwide, is adding 900 jobs across the country. Two hundred new positions will be added throughout SC, NC and TN. The new full-time positions, many of which are in company communications stores and customer service offices, offer highly competitive salaries, growth opportunities and benefits including health, dental and vision coverage that begins on the first day of employment.

“A growing customer base in the exciting world of wireless telecommunications has driven the need for additional skilled employees,” said Jerry Fountain, president of Verizon Wireless’ Carolinas/Tennessee region. “We’re seeking exceptional people with positive attitudes that have a desire to serve and provide the best wireless experience to our more than 93 million customers.”

In South Carolina, Verizon was included in Columbia Business Monthly’s 2010 list of “Best Companies in the Midlands for Working Moms.” Nationally, Verizon Wireless has received many prestigious awards including being named to Working Mother magazine's list of 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers for nine consecutive years. In addition to healthcare coverage that begins on the first day of employment, Verizon Wireless employees are offered a 401(k) program with a six percent company match of the employee’s contribution, annual bonus program, profit sharing, merit increases, tuition assistance, adoption assistance and access to health and wellness programs.

Some of the creative work-life balance benefits Verizon Wireless employees enjoy include:

  • An additional $1500 in pay to bilingual employees in key sales and customer service jobs.
  • Volunteer matching program that donates $750 to a non-profit organization of the employee’s choosing for time spent volunteering.
