SANDY, UT — Opengear (www.opengear.com), a leading provider of next generation console server and remote management solutions, today announced the ACM5004-GV, a new cellular smart router is Verizon 3G Certified. Opengear is also announcing a new release of the Opengear IM4200 advanced console server with support for external Verizon 3G certified modems.
Opengear is part of the Verizon Wireless Open Development program, which allows the development community to create new products, applications and services in addition to what Verizon Wireless offers in its portfolio and bring these to the marketplace on the Verizon Wireless 3G network.
With integrated CDMA/EV-DO connectivity, the Opengear ACM5004-GV router goes beyond previous generations of cellular routers by connecting and managing routers, firewalls, power supplies (UPS) and also providing environmental monitoring and advanced console server functionality. Opengear ACM5004-GV cellular smart routers work in many types of deployments including M2M, distributed branch offices and small server rooms, point of sale, security and ATMs (with secure wireless WAN and device connectivity).

Details about the Opengear ACM5004-GV and IM4200:
- The Opengear ACM5004-GV monitors all devices with serial, USB, Ethernet and digital I/O interfaces. Opengear also allows for UPS monitoring and management for PDUs and RPS. Environmental monitoring includes internal temperature sensors and optional support for attaching sensors for smoke, fire, vibration, water detection and door contacts.
- The Opengear ACM5004-GV, along with all other Opengear products, embeds RSA’s robust two-factor user authentication solution. From remote branches, datacenters, or distributed smart devices, RSA SecurID authenticator users automatically and securely log into a managed device.
- The Opengear ACM5004 has a very small form factor and footprint – about half the size of competing products.
- Opengear also announced a new release of their popular IM4200 advanced console servers with support for external Verizon Wireless cellular modems. The popular Opengear IM4200 is the most advanced console server platform available today with out- of- band management for serial console ports, servers, virtual servers, service processors, UPS & PDU's, environmental monitoring and more.
